Smoked glaze ham

Smoked Glaze Ham

I start this off with smoked glazed ham which is perfect for Easter. Let’s get started

Ingredients

  • Chop one or two carrots
  • Chop one or two sticks of celery
  • Chop one or two onion halved
  • Put ham and veg into a pot of water until boil and lower to a medium heat for about 3 hours
  • Then place ham on a baking tray into an oven (140 – 160 degrees for about 30 minutes until golden brown)
  • When the ham is golden brown then score with a crisscross shape on fat. Without
    fat you do not score
  • Now lay on some cloves on the ham and then mix in a bowl of brown sugar, mustard, and just some pineapple juice, just to make a thick glaze to brush over the ham
  • Bake it for about another 15 minutes more and your right to go : )

  1. great, easy crowd-pleasing easter recipes. although the eggs should probably be an “after-easter” treat, how else can you really dispose of all those dyed eggs? There’s nothing quite like a good sugar/mustard/clove glazed ham, I kind of wish we ate this kind of food more frequently than just holiday celebrations.

    • Hi penolope. Ah everybody has their own preference! I thought the devil eggs would be ideal for starters but if you preferred it for afters then you can have it that way. The beauty of food is that there are no set rules. Once hunger gets in the way then you can eat what you want 🙂

  2. Hello and thanks for sharing, I am one that love the kitchen also believe it or not. Infact I do most of the cooking in my house so my wife gets a lot of off days. 3. Hello

Very nice article and website, very friendly post with yummy recipes we all enjoy putting into our tummies.

Do you prepare Easter dinner at your place, I live alone with my dog so I am forced to do all the cooking. I have learned to enjoy cooking over the years, will you be sharing more recipes in future articles?

    • Hi Jeffrey, The recipes are based on my mothers cooking and learning that and I sometimes cook myself, on what you can see. I will be writing up more recipes for birthdays parties and special occasions in the not too distant future 🙂

  4. Hello, everything looks so good! I love deviled eggs so for me they will make the best starters. The glazed ham looks delicious I haven’t made it for Easter in a couple years and this gave me the idea to serve it this year.

The celery sticks in the roast beef sounds like it would add great flavor. My Mom uses them for specific dishes.

My Granddaughter would love the Easter chocolate nests. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to see your recipes thank you.

    • Thanks Patsy. I’m delight to give you some help on idea recipes this coming Easter! The celery sticks looks interesting, I check it out and add to my roast beef Au just recipe. Thanks 🙂

  5. You just made me starving & ready to go make a feast!! haha
But, really though, those eggs are always a must have. Not everyone will eat them, but the ones that do like deviled eggs are going to devour them! (like me)

And, the ham sounds amazing!! I’m going to have to try that!! I’m also going to save that Roast beef Au Jus recipe for a regular weekly meal! Thanks for the ideas!

  6. These recipes are great! Thanks for sharing them. I like the recipes for both the ham and roast beef and including the vegetables. The chicks made from the deviled eggs are adorable. Have you made them? Do you know what is used for the eyes and feet? The nests are fun too. I think all holidays can be enjoyed by all, old and young alike. It is a chance to be together and baking/cooking can bring families together. When I was growing up the holiday meal preparation was enjoyed by all, from appetizers to dessert…Dennis

    • Hi Dennis. I have made the devil eggs and my sisters kids loved them, you can cut a piece of carrot below the body of the eggs to make the feet and into the yolk of each egg to make the face. black peeper as eyes. substitute them for black sprinkles or pieces of olive, Yes this is a special time of the year for families to come around, More like Christmas again. Easter is great for that and I Hope you and the family will have a marvelous Easter. 🙂
